About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented HR Payroll Administrator to join their team in East London . This hybrid role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. You will work closely with the HR and Finance departments to manage payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and provide support to employees regarding payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent data management skills, and experience working in a hybrid environment within the East London region.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll accurately and efficiently for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory payroll requirements, including tax, UIF, and SDL.
- Manage employee data related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, deductions, and payslips.
- Assist with benefits administration and ensure correct deductions are applied.
Requirements
- Matriculation certificate with a strong focus on numeracy; a payroll or bookkeeping qualification is highly desirable.
- 2-3 years of experience in payroll administration.
- Thorough understanding of South African payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a hybrid setting.
