Job Description
The coordinator patterns their leadership after the example of Jesus Christ, strengthens those they lead, effectively administers Seminary and Institute (S&I) programs in an assigned geographic area, andbuildsunitywithothers.Thisisapeoplemanagerposition.Thecoordinatorshouldhaveastrong background andexperience in learning, teaching, training,communication,managingresources, and helpingotherstogrowintheirperformanceanddevelopment.Theworkofacoordinatorhelpsyouth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.

Responsibilities
Typicalresponsibilitiesincludebutarenotlimited to:
Workinpartnershipwiththearea/regiondirector,stakepresidencies,highcouncil,stake Supervisors, Ward Leaders, And Called Teachers To
- Setgoals,makeplans,andimplementthemtoincreasethenumberofyouthand young adults participating in seminary and institute.
- Improvethelearningexperienceandassessstudentexperienceforallyouthand young adults (including students with disabilities) enrolled in your programs.
- Build the capability of stake-called teachers to accomplish what is outlined in TeachingintheSavior’sWay.Thismayincludemonthlydiscussions,micro-training, in-service, digital and in-person observation, feedback, resources, and support.
- Preparetheannualprogramoperatingbudget,overseefinancialperformance,and
- AdaptS&Icurriculumandprovideapacingguideforlocal needs.
- TeachS&IclassesintheSavior’swayastheassignment requires.
- Regularly review and update a professional development plan, work towards accomplishingthosegoals,andrenderanaccounttothearea/regiondirector.
- EstablishandmaintainaChristlikecultureofunity,improvement,and accountability.
- Supervisetheworkofotheremployees,whichmayincludeamixedworkforceof full-time and part-time employees as well as volunteers.
- PartnerwithHR(HumanResources)toprovidesuggestionsandrecommendations as to the hiring, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of employees under coordinator supervision.
- Participateinregulartrainingopportunitiesatthegeneral/area/region level.
Manageprogramoperations,information,reports,and resources.
Thispositionmayrequire travel.
Performanyadditionaldutiesas assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be worthy of and hold a current/valid Temple Recommend and exemplify the Church teachingsregardingmarriageandfamilylife.HaveastrongpersonaltestimonyoftheGospel of Jesus Christ, and a commitment to the spiritual growth of the Youth and Young Single Adult’s.
- Preferred, Master’s Degree.
- Recognizedbachelor’sdegree(preferablyineducation),with5yearsof classroomteaching experience, coupled with management experience within the educational environment.
- Requiresamid-levelofunderstandingandskillsrelatedtotheprinciplesandpracticesof teaching, learning, and training.
- Theabilitytorelateto,andcommunicateeffectivelywithallstakeholders,including Priesthood Leaders, parents and students.
- Requiresmid-levelinterpersonalcommunicationskills—includingverbalcommunication, active listening, body language, openness, negotiation, decision making, and conflict resolution and mediation.
- Possessageneralunderstandingofhowtosupportstudentswithdisabilities,whichmayincludephysical, learning, behavioural, emotional, and/or mental health challenges.
- Abilitytoplanandmanagetime,information,reports,resources,meetings,agendas,and action items.
- Possessmid-levelskillsinexaminingdatatograspissues,drawconclusions,andsolve problems.
- Beproficientinmanagingperformanceandencouraginggrowthandimprovementof others.
- AdvancedproficiencyinMSPackagessuchasWord,ExcelandPowerPoint,andabilityto manage operations, information, reports, resources, and programs.
- Beabletomanage,prioritize,andbalanceyourtime appropriately.
- Musthavecurrent/validdriver’slicenseandbewillingto travel
