Construction Manager – Renewables – Johannesburg

Introduction:

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site delivery of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have strong construction management experience across EPC, infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects, with proven exposure to large-scale project execution.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage all on-site construction activities for renewable energy projects.
• Lead construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
• Drive project execution in line with schedules, budgets, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Maintain high HSE standards across project sites.
• Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and manage construction risks and challenges.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE and Commissioning teams.
• Ensure construction milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.
• Support commissioning, testing and final project handover.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years' construction management experience.
• Experience within EPC, infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to travel.
• Comfortable working on remote project sites.
• Renewable Energy Experience:
• Experience with substations and transmission infrastructure.
• Proven experience delivering Solar PV, Wind Energy and/or BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls and site management.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and large site teams.
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
