Our client in George is a experienced Creditors Controller (Property Management) in George. This is a financially significant function within the property management environment, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately reconcile municipal charges, metering data and tenant consumption. The successful candidate will ensure that tenants are billed correctly according to actual usage and applicable municipal tariffs.

POSITION INFO:
Description: Process municipal and utility accounts across the managed portfolio and provide property managers with the usage information required to review their buildings Calculate and bill monthly tenant recoveries for water and electricity using metering platforms, physical readings and municipal accounts Maintain annual fixed recovery charges and apply municipal tariff increases each year Verify that tariffs applied by municipalities and metering platforms are correct and perform tariff studies Raise and resolve municipal account queries and reconcile municipal accounts to external and sub-meter readings Open and set up municipal accounts and recovery structures for newly acquired buildings and confirm that all usage is correctly metered Manage municipal guarantees and reconcile municipal deposits to statements and records Prepare and lodge municipal rates objections and report on the outcomes Prepare monthly performance reporting, including solar generation reporting used in property valuations, and provide support during the annual audit Requirements: A completed degree in accounting, or a related commercial field is strongly preferred; a relevant diploma supported by strong practical experience will also be considered At least five years' experience in a creditors, accounts payable or financial administration role A sound understanding of reconciliations and the month-end cycle, with confidence handling high volumes of detailed information Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Excel Fluent in Afrikaans and English Advantageous Experience in property management, utility recoveries or municipal accounts Exposure to MRI Property Central or a comparable property management system Experience dealing directly with municipalities Please note only candidates that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
