Production Manager

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a Production Manager to work on Nightshift, to lead and manage a team by ensuring high-quality output, operational efficiency, and adherence to client specifications. The Production Manager plays a critical role in guiding the team toward excellence in productivity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Key Performance Areas

Leadership / People Management

• Lead by example, demonstrating Amrod's values and promoting a positive, productive team culture.
• Manage and supervise the production team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
• Handle IR/HR-related challenges as and when required.
• Team engagement & development.

Productivity

• Lead department/s under your control in a manner that will ensure that targets are met within the given lead-time and at the quality standard set by the directors and management,and expected by our customers.
• Manage and schedule work in accordance with the Production Plan.
• Ensure machinery and equipment is looked after by staff & any machine defects are logged on the E-works system timeously.
• Day-to-day management of subordinates · Manage rejects according to set targets.
• Ensure the teams are running as lean and efficiently as possible to meet our daily deadlines and targets.
• Provide professional advice in the event that expectations are not met.
• Plan, select, develop, and maintain resources and capabilities.
• Guide and coach your subordinates to maintain the leadership skills in Amrod
• Present new systems, process flows, and concepts to the team.
• Present information logically, accurately, and timeously.
• Spearhead and manage production/branding improvement processes.
• Maintain effective discipline in the department under your control.
• Ensure that safe practices are implemented and monitored on a continuous basis.
• Contribute to the success of the Production Department and the Company.
• Assist in any other areas of the business where your input and assistance is required.

Reporting

• Maintain and report on team performance metrics.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, including senior management and team members.
• Develop and maintain dashboards or reports to visualize data and facilitate decision-making.
• Identify and address data quality issues to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reports.
• Collaborate with other teams to gather and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Develop and implement reporting schedules and protocols to ensure timely and consistent reporting.

Quality

• Execute and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet Amrod's quality standards.
• Collaborate with the technical team to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
• Improve efficiency and cost control.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality considerations are integrated into production planning and processes.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics and reporting to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure production team members are trained on quality control processes and procedures.

Operational Standards & Compliance

• Analyse production data and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor 5’s in the department and keep machinery/equipment clean.
• Ensure machine breakdowns are reported accordingly on E-works.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and company policies in the production area.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards or operational risks.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in production processes.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and disposal of materials, supplies, and waste in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Promote a culture of cleanliness and organization within the production team and recognize and address any deviations from expected standards.

Customer Service

• Communicate effectively with production staff, other departments, and management to ensure seamless workflow and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Be involved in production planning to meet customer deadlines and expectations.
• Ensure production team meets internal customer expectations for quality, quantity, and timeliness of products or services.
• Collaborate with internal customers to understand their needs and preferences and adjust production plans accordingly.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues that could impact internal customer satisfaction.
• Provide regular updates and feedback to internal customers on production progress and any changes.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve production processes and services to meet evolving internal customer needs.
