Job Title: Outbound Sales Consultant

Reporting To: Sales Manager

Purpose

The organisation proactively protects home dreams, lives, and livelihoods by creating healthy homes. The Outbound Sales Consultant is often the first voice a homeowner or prospective homeowner hears. Working from assigned cold-lead lists and taking live warm transfers from lead warmers, the consultant opens conversations, understands individual needs, and helps clients put the right cover in place to protect what matters most. This is a high-energy, high-volume role for an individual who is resilient on the phone, genuinely curious about people, and motivated by achieving targets ethically.

Key Responsibilities

• Dial and Connect: Works through existing customer lead campaigns and cold lead campaigns with consistent energy and high activity, opening conversations from a cold start. Accepts live transfers from lead warmers, smoothly picks up conversations, and guides clients through to a completed sale.

• Understand and Advise: Presents quotes clearly, explains product features, benefits, exclusions, and costs in plain language, and handles objections without applying pressure. Closes sales and prepares clients correctly for a smooth onboarding experience.

• Maintain Compliance and Accuracy: Makes the required identity, purpose, and call-recording disclosures. Captures every interaction, outcome, disclosure, and consent accurately and promptly within the CRM system.

• Deliver and Improve: Meets daily activity and talk-time standards alongside monthly sales targets. Maintains call-quality and compliance scores while operating according to approved scripts and Treating Customers Fairly principles. Shares effective strategies, supports teammates, and contributes ideas toward dialing experiments and script improvements.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Matric

• RE5 certification

• FAIS qualification (e.g., NQF5 Wealth Management)

• Class of business accreditation for the relevant products sold

• Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours maintained once competent

• A clear criminal, credit (ITC), and FAIS debarment record to fulfill the honesty and integrity standards under Fit and Proper requirements

Minimum Required Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in cold-calling within outbound, telesales, or contact-center sales roles in the insurance or financial services industry
