Junior Business Development Executive

This is a great opportunity for someone who understands the freight forwarding environment, knows how the industry works and has the confidence, personality and sales acumen to build relationships, identify opportunities and develop new business.

You will be responsible for growing the client base and promoting a range of clearing, forwarding and logistics solutions to new and existing clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Cold calling, networking and business development
- Meet with clients to understand their freight and logistics requirements
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and grow existing accounts
- Prepare proposals and negotiate with clients
- Work closely with Operations to ensure a smooth handover of new business
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets
- Develop a strong understanding of clients' supply chain requirements and provide suitable solutions

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience within Freight Forwarding / Clearing & Forwarding is essential
- Potentially someone currently working in Operations who is looking to transition into Sales
- Strong understanding of international freight, customs and logistics
- Strong sales acumen and commercial awareness
- Confident, outgoing and comfortable dealing with clients
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, energetic and driven to succeed
- Resilient and comfortable with business development and cold calling
- A genuine interest in building a career in Freight Sales
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
