Software Developer â AI & Automation

The Role

As a Developer, you will:

• Develop, enhance, integrate, and support business-critical software solutions.
• Work across the full SDLC, from requirements gathering and design through development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation systems and integrations.
• Identify opportunities where AI, automation, and emerging technologies can improve business processes.
• Develop and integrate AI-enabled functionality into existing systems.
• Work with internal teams and third-party stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks in high-availability environments.
• Contribute to coding standards, system architecture, development frameworks, and deployment methodologies.
• Mentor and support junior developers.
• Continuously improve system functionality, performance, security, and user experience.

What Youll Need

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or relevant qualification in Software Development, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A degree such as B.Eng., B.Sc., B.Com, or a related IT/software development qualification would be advantageous.
• Additional qualifications or certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related disciplines would be advantageous.

Experience

• 36 years relevant software development experience.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Practical experience developing or integrating AI and AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong experience with:
  • C# / .NET
  • REST APIs
  • Microservice architecture
  • Relational and non-relational databases
  • MSSQL and/or Cosmos DB
  • Message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus or AWS EventBridge
  • Cloud platforms, particularly Azure
  • XML and JSON
  • Git/version control
  • Production troubleshooting and debugging
  • Third-party system integrations
  • Performance optimisation
• Experience with Angular or React would be advantageous.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Azure Durable Functions, and Azure DevOps would be advantageous.

• Strong software development and programming capability.
• Practical knowledge of AI and its business applications.
• The ability to develop and implement AI-driven solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of:
  • Database design and principles
  • System engineering and design
  • TypeScript-based responsive web applications
  • Cloud engineering practices
  • Software architecture and modelling
• Experience within finance, invoicing, claims, insurance, or other relevant business environments would be advantageous."
