Mechanical Design Drafter

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to join their engineering department in Rustenburg . This position requires a strong command of CAD software and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into precise technical drawings. You will play a crucial role in documenting designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineers and project managers on a variety of exciting projects within the industrial sector, contributing to the seamless execution of engineering plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, specifications, and relevant industry regulations.
• Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering changes or feedback.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to understand design requirements and specifications.
• Maintain a comprehensive library of drawings and documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Requirements

• Diploma or relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or CAD Technician.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is essential.
• Strong understanding of drafting conventions, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
