Community Sports Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Community Sports Coordinator to lead and expand their sports programs in East London . This role is instrumental in fostering sports participation, promoting healthy lifestyles, and building stronger community ties through accessible and engaging sports activities. You will work closely with local schools, community centers, and sports clubs to develop, implement, and manage a variety of programs for all age groups. This on-site position requires an individual with strong organizational skills, a passion for community engagement, and the ability to inspire participation in sports.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a range of community sports programs and initiatives.
• Organize and oversee sports events, tournaments, and leagues for various age groups and skill levels.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, schools, local government, and sports organizations.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and part-time staff to support program delivery.
• Ensure programs are inclusive, safe, and meet the needs of the diverse community in East London.
• Manage program budgets, track participation, and report on the impact and effectiveness of initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in community development , sports coaching, or recreation program management.
• Strong understanding of community needs and the ability to engage diverse groups.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills .
• Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate events, and work with volunteers.
• Knowledge of various sports and fitness activities suitable for community settings.
• Commitment to working full-time on-site in East London .
