Technical Manager (Automotive / Vehicle Modification / Manufacturing)
SUMMARY:
The role is responsible for coordinating Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Sales, Quality and Production, ensuring resources, materials, technical requirements and production schedules are aligned to meet customer deadlines and quality standards.
POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage multiple projects, priorities and production activities simultaneously. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within quality requirements and to customer expectations. Translate customer and technical requirements into practical production plans and workflows. Develop and manage production schedules, job cards, work instructions and quality documentation. Oversee production planning, workflow, vehicle movement, tooling, resources and manpower. Identify and resolve technical, production and operational challenges proactively. Drive continuous improvement, Lean\/5S, waste reduction and process optimisation. Liaise with , Sales, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors. Lead, develop and performance-manage the production team. Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, ISO standards and quality specifications. Monitor project progress and provide regular management reporting. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Matric \/ Grade 12. Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Operations Management, Production Management or similar . 5 to 10 years experience in Technical \/ Workshop Management. Experience in automotive manufacturing, vehicle modification, automotive components, engineering, workshop or a similar technical environment . Strong technical\/mechanical knowledge. Proven project management and production planning experience. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Experience with time studies, line balancing and process improvement. Strong leadership, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and take ownership from start to completion. Lean \/ Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.
