Financial Accountant – George

Our client, an established accounting firm based in George is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a client-focused environment and has a strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Experience with VAT and other statutory submissions.
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero, Sage or similar.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Key Performance Areas:

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for a portfolio of clients.
• Capture and process financial transactions accurately.
• Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT and other relevant statutory returns.
• Assist with income tax and other tax-related submissions where required.
• Liaise with clients regarding accounting and financial queries.
