Front of House Manager - High End Restaurant

WE ARE HIRING: Front of House Manager
Location: Bryanston | Salary: Market Related

We are seeking a client-focused, detail-oriented Front of House Manager to oversee restaurant front of house operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage front of house operations and attend management meetings as required
• Ensure the front of house area is serviced and maintained to company standards
• Ensure effective liaison between front of house and back of house teams
• Ensure staff are in full uniform and prepared to perform their duties
• Implement company policies and procedures, and ensure service standards are met
• Ensure guests are greeted courteously and pre-empt customer needs and complaints
• Manage queue flow and ensure fast, effective service delivery
• Balance cashier sales control sheets daily
• Conduct systematic checks of front of house areas for maintenance needs
• Provide ongoing on-the-job training to staff
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety protocols and SA law
• Maintain a visible presence with guests and staff
• Manage client satisfaction and implement quality control programs
• Submit accurate and timeous reports and administrative work
• Monitor industry trends and suggest improvements
• Set and manage service delivery standards
• Control stock, conduct stock takes and manage company assets
• Report incidents to the HR Manager in detail
• Promote the company within the local community and support marketing campaigns
• Train new recruits and current staff on protocols and standards
• Hold staff accountable for misconduct and administer discipline

Requirements:

• Strong judgement and problem-solving skills
• Excellent people, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Flexibility with working hours
• Strong attention to detail and client service orientation
• Understanding of business management principles
• Fully computer literate
• Able to communicate in the predominant language(s) of the trading area
• Adaptable to changing circumstances
