Our client, a reputable firm committed to excellence and compliance, is seeking a seasoned Legal Risk & Compliance (LRC) Advisor. This position offers the opportunity to lead legal and regulatory initiatives at a senior level, supporting sustainable growth and operational integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to various business units and management.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage customer, merchant, supplier, technology, outsourcing, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Offer guidance on commercial transactions, new products, services, technologies, and business models.
• Identify contractual, regulatory, liability, indemnity, data protection, intellectual property, and operational risks.
• Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle from initiation to renewal and termination.
• Conduct legal due diligence on partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and strategic projects.
• Monitor, interpret, and implement legislation, regulatory directives, and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and conduct regular reviews.
• Support compliance activities related to customer due diligence, merchant onboarding, transaction monitoring, and data protection.
• Identify, assess, and report legal, regulatory, and operational risks, maintaining risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Prepare legal opinions, advisory memoranda, management reports, and governance documentation.
• Engage with regulators, auditors, external legal advisers, and industry bodies.
• Build strong collaborative relationships across various functions including business, product, technology, operations, finance, and commercial.

What You'll Need:

• 5 to 8 years of relevant legal and compliance experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in drafting, negotiation, and risk management.
• Solid knowledge of commercial law and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical controls and policies.
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have:

• Skills in R programming language or data analysis (beneficial but not essential).
