Engineering Manager (Spares)

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Revenue Growth

• Develop and execute strategies to grow spare parts, refurbishment, repair and field service revenue
• Achieve departmental sales and profitability targets
• Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective customer accounts
• Develop aftermarket sales strategies to increase customer retention and recurring revenue
• Analyse market trends, customer spending patterns and competitor activity

Customer Relationship Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key mining and industrial customers
• Negotiate and maintain Customer Supply Agreements
• Resolve customer complaints, commercial disputes and service-related issues
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards throughout the department
• Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities

Team Leadership & Department Management

• Lead and manage the Spares and Services Department personnel
• Develop performance metrics and KPIs
• Mentor, coach and develop staff
• Manage departmental budgets and expenditure
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Sales Administration & Operational Oversight

• Oversee quotation processes, costing submissions and order processing
• Monitor order expediting, collections and deliveries
• Ensure efficient inventory management practices
• Develop and maintain departmental procedures and workflows
• Maintain and improve part numbering systems and customer master data requirements

Support to Sales Engineering Team

• Support regional Sales Engineers with lifecycle costing and maintenance budget projections
• Assist in developing aftermarket solutions for customers
• Coordinate customer communication regarding spare parts availability and maintenance planning

Strategic Planning

• Develop annual business plans and growth strategies
• Monitor departmental profitability and margins
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer responsiveness
