Intermediate Structural Engineer - Consulting Industry
RPO Recruitment’s client, an established engineering company is seeking a technically capable Structural Engineer for its Secunda operation. The role will suit a driven engineer who wants to broaden their experience through involvement in industrial and mining-related projects, while gaining valuable exposure to projects beyond the traditional design office.
The position combines engineering design with practical project involvement and provides a platform for continued professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop structural engineering solutions for assigned projects.
- Complete design calculations and supporting technical documentation.
- Assist with engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during construction.
- Participate in site inspections and project-related assessments.
- Coordinate structural requirements with other engineering disciplines.
- Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are understood.
- Maintain a high standard of engineering quality across all deliverables.
Requirements:
- NQF Level 8 qualification such as a BEng/BSc Honours in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 4–6 years of relevant industry experience.
- Previous involvement in structural engineering projects.
- Competence in structural analysis and design.
- A proactive approach to technical problem-solving.
- Willingness to spend time on project sites and travel when necessary.
- An interest in pursuing professional registration.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
