Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and coordinator of the postgraduate student and administrative matters in Student Administration, in order to deliver an exceptional and client friendly service to students, parents, lecturers, Dean, Deputy Deans, the Faculty, the University in general and the community. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Staff Management
- Applications and Admissions
- Registration and General enquiries
- Examination and Related Matters
- Faculty Postgraduate brochures and electronic yearbook
- Advisement and Consultations
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant Bachelors / B Tech Degree in Administration, Management, or related field
- At least 4 Years relevant experience in Postgraduate Student administration
Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)
- Knowledge of the policies and regulations of the University
- Knowledge of South African Qualifications Association (SAQA)
- Knowledge of Universities South Africa (USAF) processes
- Specialist knowledge in all processes of student administration
- Demonstrated competence in Internal Computer programmes (Peoplesoft), Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
- Leadership and Project Management including Meeting facilitation, project coordination, goal setting, decision-making, prioritising, and conflict resolution.
- The ability to work independently and under pressure, positive attitude toward all work activities and client service.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
- Professionalism and Integrity.
- Strong language skills combined with effective time management for high-quality outputs.
Added Advantages And Preferences
- A relevant postgraduate qualification
- Extensive supervisory or managerial experience
- A valid driver's license
- Extensive experience in a university environment
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
