Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Industrial Machinery

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team in Mahikeng . This role is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all mechanical equipment and machinery within the plant. You will supervise a team of technicians, develop and implement maintenance strategies, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently. This is a vital position for maintaining operational continuity and productivity in their industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of mechanical maintenance technicians
• Develop and execute preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and consumables for the maintenance department.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
