Mechanical Fire Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fire Engineer to join our team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a specialization in fire protection systems.

Responsibilities:

• - Design and oversee the installation of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and smoke detectors
• - Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential fire hazards and recommend solutions
• - Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for fire protection systems
• - Collaborate with architects, builders, and other engineers to ensure fire protection systems meet building codes and regulations
• - Perform regular inspections and maintenance on fire protection equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with standards
• - Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the construction phase
• - Stay current with new developments in fire protection technology and regulations

Qualifications:

• - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• - Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is preferred
• - Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on fire protection systems
• - Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations related to fire protection systems
• - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software
• - Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
