About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and innovative Director of Sports Performance to lead their athletic development programs in East London . This critical role involves overseeing the physical conditioning, injury prevention, and overall athletic development of elite athletes across various sports. You will design and implement cutting-edge performance training protocols, manage a team of strength and conditioning specialists, and collaborate closely with coaches and sports scientists to optimize athlete potential. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of sports science, a proven track record in developing high-performing athletes, and exceptional leadership qualities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sports performance programs, including strength training, conditioning, and recovery strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of strength and conditioning coaches and performance specialists.
  • Conduct regular athlete assessments and performance testing to track progress and inform training plans.
  • Collaborate with sport-specific coaches to align performance training with team objectives and athlete needs.
  • Ensure the implementation of best practices in injury prevention, rehabilitation support, and athlete wellness.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in sports science and performance training.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sports performance coaching and management, with a focus on elite athletes.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSCS, SCCC, or equivalent are required.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing successful athletic development programs.
  • Strong understanding of biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition for athletes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and data analysis skills.
