Tooling Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Tooling Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain tooling for manufacturing processes in East London . This role is crucial for ensuring the precision, efficiency, and reliability of molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in production. You will work closely with the manufacturing and production teams to optimize tooling performance and troubleshoot any related issues. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new tooling (molds, dies, jigs, fixtures) for manufacturing processes using CAD software.
• Oversee the fabrication and assembly of tooling, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues that impact production efficiency and quality.
• Optimize existing tooling for improved performance, longevity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure tooling integration and smooth operation on the production floor.
• Maintain tooling documentation, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design and manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with various tooling types, such as injection molds, stamping dies, or assembly fixtures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
