Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client requires a vigilant and technically adept Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst for their facility in Polokwane. In this critical role, you will monitor the health and performance of the company's telecommunications network, responding promptly to alerts and incidents to minimize service disruption. You will work collaboratively within the NOC team to ensure the highest levels of network availability and reliability, playing a key part in maintaining operational excellence. This hybrid role involves shift work, offering flexibility while ensuring continuous coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and performance using specialized NOC tools and dashboards.
• Respond to network alarms and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams or engineers following established procedures.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks as required.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and sometimes external parties regarding network status.

Requirements

• Diploma or relevant certification in IT, Networking, or Telecommunications.
• 1-2 years of experience in a NOC environment or similar telecoms support role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring concepts and tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
