Product Developer - Retail: Play Goods

The Product Developer will be responsible for building new product ranges and brands from the ground up, taking fullownership of the development process — from concept and sourcing through to pitching and retail execution. This is ahigh-impact, autonomous role with direct exposure to the business owner and a revenue share structure that makesevery brand the candidate builds genuinely their own.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Generating new product ideas, concepts, and category opportunities.
• 2. Researching market trends, retail movements, social media trends, and international products.
• 3. Managing products from concept through to production and retail launch.
• 4. Coordinating development activities across multiple brands and product categories.
• 5. Communicating with suppliers and factories regarding quotations, samples, timelines, and production.
• 6. Sourcing new products, manufacturing partners, and business opportunities.
• 7. Coordinating packaging development with internal designers and suppliers.
• 8. Reviewing samples, artwork, mock-ups, and product revisions.
• 9. Managing development timelines, approvals, and launch schedules.
• 10. Ensuring projects remain on track and proactively resolving issues.
• 11. Assisting with international trade shows, supplier meetings, factory visits, and market research where required.
• 12. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and supplier management abilities.
• Commercial awareness and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
• A genuine interest in products, brands, retail, sourcing, and innovation.
• Experience in product development, sourcing, procurement, project management, retail, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.
