About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Installation and Calibration Technician to join their team in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This role focuses on the precise installation, configuration, and calibration of specialized equipment for a diverse clientele. You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are set up correctly and perform within stringent accuracy parameters, playing a critical role in the client's operational success. This hybrid role involves significant fieldwork with potential for some remote planning and reporting, perfect for a technician who values precision, problem-solving, and enjoys a mix of on-site engagement and independent work in the Installation & Maintenance field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission complex equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform precise calibration procedures on installed systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
- Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to resolve any installation or calibration-related issues.
- Document all installation, calibration, and testing activities thoroughly in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide on-site training and support to clients on the proper operation and basic maintenance of the installed equipment.
- Collaborate with the engineering and support departments to address challenging technical issues and provide field feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Installation and Calibration Technician or similar role within Installation & Maintenance.
- Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement techniques, and relevant instrumentation.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel within the Stellenbosch region, with potential for hybrid work arrangements.
