Project Manager - Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure development projects in the Vereeniging area. This role involves managing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to public works, utilities, or transportation networks. You will work closely with engineering teams, government bodies, and contractors to ensure projects meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field, coupled with robust project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all project phases, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, utility providers, and community groups.
• Oversee the preparation of project documentation, permits, and environmental impact assessments.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements on project sites.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Lead and manage project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects .
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management .
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
• Familiarity with public sector project environments is a plus.
