Showroom Sales Consultant - Paarl

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced Showroom Sales Consultant to join their luxury furniture and interiors team in Paarl, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, customer-focused sales professional with a passion for high-end furniture, interiors, and design. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of relevant sales experience, strong design knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for detail. Experience within the interior design and trade procurement sector will be highly advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2–4 years of proven sales experience in high-end furniture, home décor, finishes, or luxury interior retail.
• A strong understanding of interior aesthetics, textiles, timbers, custom upholstery specifications, and spatial planning.
• An established network or working knowledge of Cape Town’s interior design and trade procurement sector will be a strong advantage.
• Computer literate, with experience using retail ERP/POS systems (e.g. OMNI), email correspondence, and basic Excel or Google Sheets.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Afrikaans is beneficial. Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills, excellent time management and organisational abilities, and a customer-first mindset.
• Consistently meeting or exceeding monthly personal revenue targets.
• Maintaining a high conversion rate from written quotes to closed sales.
• Proven ability to onboard local trade clients and generate repeat sales orders.
• Exceptional administrative accuracy, with zero errors on customer sales orders, custom timber and fabric specifications, and payment balances.

DUTIES:

Sales Generation & Consultative Selling:

• Achieve and exceed monthly individual sales targets across retail and trade categories.
• Provide personalized design consultations to showroom clients, assisting with spatial layout planning, fabric selection, timber finishes, and customized furniture specifications.
• Systematically follow up on open quotes, customer queries, and pending trade projects to maximize sales conversion.

Trade & Decorator Client Relations:

• Build and nurture relationships with visiting interior designers, decorators, architects, and hospitality buyers within the Paarden Eiland design hub.
• Process trade applications, issue project quotations, order fabric swatches, and manage lead times for design industry professionals.
• Maintain an up-to-date client database for regular outreach regarding new collection launches and trade offers.

Showroom Operations & Floor Standards:

• Ensure the showroom presentation, styled vignettes, price tags, and fabric sample swatches are always immaculate.
• Accurately process quotes, sales orders, lay-bys, and payments through the retail POS/ERP system (e.g. OMNI).
• Coordinate with logistics, manufacturing, and warehouse teams to provide customers with accurate lead times and updates on delivery schedules.
