POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Chartered Accountant to join their Accounts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review bank, customer and supplier reconciliations Prepare customer and supplier invoices Maintain the Fixed Assets Register Prepare Management Accounts Complete stock reconciliations Manage payroll, including fringe benefits, allowances and bargaining council requirements Prepare and process PAYE, VAT and UIF returns Assist junior accounting staff with accounting queries and processes Liaise with clients and respond to queries professionally Ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met Maintain accurate and confidential financial records Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and company policies Identify opportunities to improve processes and generate additional revenue Minimum Requirements qualification completed through SAICA Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field PGDA \/ CTA Matric Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting practice Valid Driver's Licence Software Experience Excel, Word and MS Office Xero Pastel Partner Pastel Evolution Pastel Payroll Sage VIP Payroll eFiling EasyFile Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of VAT, including zero-rated and exempt transactions Provisional tax and tax calculations Depreciation Bad and doubtful debts Deferred tax Customs VAT Financial reporting and Management Accounts Financial ratio analysis Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and numerical ability Good organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Professional, proactive and client-focused approach Key Attributes The ideal candidate will be professional, analytical, highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented , with the ability to work independently while providing support and guidance to junior team members.
