E&I Construction Manager (Overhead Lines Experience Essential)

They are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Construction Manager to lead site execution on current and upcoming projects, with specific emphasis on overhead line construction and MV/HV reticulation.

POSITION INFO:
The Role Manage E&I construction projects from mobilisation through to handover - on time, on budget and to specification Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and multidisciplinary interfaces across greenfield and brownfield projects Oversee construction, installation and repair of overhead lines and MV\/HV reticulation networks (up to 132 kV) Manage installation of MV switchgear, mini-substations, Ring Main Units, and MV joints\/terminations Drive HSE compliance and quality assurance across all site activities, in line with ISO 9001\/45001 standards Act as the primary technical and client-facing point of contact on site, resolving construction constraints, technical queries and schedule risks Coordinate QA\/QC inspections, testing, punch list close-out and project handover What We're Looking For Proven track record as a Construction Manager \/ Superintendent within E&I construction, ideally within an EPC\/EPCM or turnkey contracting environment Demonstrable, hands-on experience in overhead line installation and\/or repair - this is a non-negotiable requirement, not a nice-to-have Solid working knowledge of MV\/HV reticulation, switchgear, substations and related electrical infrastructure Strong and subcontractor management experience, with the ability to manage multiple workfronts simultaneously Relevant technical qualification (Electrical \/ Electrical Trade Test \/ equivalent), plus current HSE certifications (e.g. Working at Heights, Construction Regulations) Willingness and ability to work on project sites across South Africa and the broader African continent Valid driver's licence and passport; own transport advantageous Why Apply Join a company with a genuine legacy in African infrastructure delivery, a strong safety and quality culture, and a pipeline of projects that will put your overhead lines and E&I construction expertise to real use - not just on paper.
