Our client, a leading engineering and energy consultancy, is looking for a Power Systems Engineer to join their growing technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of power system and energy infrastructure projects across utilities, industrial facilities, substations, and renewable energy developments.
Working alongside experienced specialists, you will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and network modelling through to detailed engineering, implementation, testing, and commissioning.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Perform power system studies, including: Load flow analysis Short-circuit calculations Motor starting studies Voltage drop and voltage profile assessments Harmonic and power quality studies Network stability studies Power factor correction analysis Develop and maintain electrical network models. Conduct grid impact assessments and grid code compliance studies for renewable energy and generation projects. Perform protection coordination studies and contribute to protection system design. Provide technical input into HV and MV electrical system designs. Review and interpret substation primary and secondary schematics. Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation. Support the design and specification of transformers, switchgear, cables, protection systems, and related equipment. Investigate power quality and network performance issues and recommend practical solutions. Provide technical support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. Review and vendor documentation for technical compliance. Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Participate in site inspections, technical investigations, and commissioning activities. Assist with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and project proposals. Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Minimum Requirements BEng, BSc, or BTech in Electrical Engineering. 3-8 years of relevant Power Systems Engineering experience. Hands-on experience with power system modelling and analytical studies. Proficiency in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSS®E , or similar software. Strong understanding of electrical power systems and network analysis. Experience with load flow, short-circuit, and fault-level studies. Knowledge of HV and MV electrical systems. Understanding of protection systems and relay coordination. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required. Why This Opportunity?
