Underwriting & Claims Assistant

SUMMARY:

Are you an experienced Short-Term Insurance professional with a strong background in both underwriting and claims?

POSITION INFO:
A well-established financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Underwriting & Claims Assistant to provide support across commercial and personal lines insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide underwriting and claims administration support to advisers.
• Prepare and process quotations, policy documentation, and onboarding packs.
• Liaise with insurers, clients, assessors, and service providers.
• Manage policy amendments, renewals, cancellations, and premium collections.
• Coordinate insurer surveys and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate client records and asset registers.
• Monitor and manage claims from initiation through to settlement.
• Ensure all client correspondence and documentation are maintained accurately.
• Support compliance and audit processes.
• Assist with client service queries and deliver exceptional customer support.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric Certificate.
• RE5 qualification.
• NQF 4 Short-Term Insurance qualification (150 credits).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Short-Term Insurance.
• Proven experience in both underwriting and claims administration.
• Exposure to both commercial and personal lines, with strong commercial lines experience preferred.
• Strong administrative, communication, and organisational abilities.
