JUNIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – SECTIONAL TITLE LITIGATION

Location: Pretoria
Salary: R12,500 – R25,000 CTC, depending on experience

A well-established legal practice is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney with practical experience in sectional-title litigation and dispute resolution to join their team.

This is a specialised opportunity for an admitted attorney with approximately 1–4 years' post-admission experience who has a strong working knowledge of sectional-title legislation and practical experience handling related disputes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• LLB degree
• Admitted Attorney
• Approximately 1–4 years' post-admission experience
• Practical experience in sectional-title litigation/dispute resolution is essential
• Sound working knowledge of the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA) and its Regulations
• Practical CSOS experience
• Strong legal drafting and research skills
• High Court and/or Magistrates' Court litigation experience will be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage matters independently and meet deadlines

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will deal with:

• Sectional title, body corporate and trustee disputes
• CSOS matters
• Levy and arrears-related disputes
• Disputes between owners, trustees and/or managing agents
• Interpretation and enforcement of management and conduct rules
• Applications and other litigation proceedings arising from sectional-title disputes
• Drafting pleadings, notices, correspondence and legal opinions
• High Court and Magistrates' Court litigation where applicable
• Legal research and providing advice on sectional-title matters
• Advising clients on their rights, obligations and available legal remedies
• Managing litigation files and ensuring matters progress efficiently

IMPORTANT

This is a litigation-focused sectional-title position.

Candidates must have genuine, practical experience dealing with sectional-title disputes and litigation.
