Film and Video Editor

Our client, a dynamic production company in Soweto , is seeking a skilled Film and Video Editor to join their creative team. You will be responsible for assembling raw footage into polished, engaging final products for a variety of projects, including documentaries, promotional videos, and short films. This role requires a keen eye for storytelling, a strong sense of pacing, and technical proficiency with editing software. You will work closely with directors and producers to bring creative visions to life within our Soweto studio, contributing to high-quality visual content.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit raw video footage to create compelling narratives and visually appealing content.
• Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project requirements and creative intent.
• Select appropriate music, sound effects, and graphics to enhance the final edit.
• Ensure all edits adhere to project timelines and technical specifications.
• Manage and organize video assets, project files, and backups efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Video Editor or Film Editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse editing projects.
• Proficiency in professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
• Experience with color correction, sound mixing, and motion graphics is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
