Finance Specialist (Renewables) - Cape Town - FTC

Context & Environment

• Affiliate in a growing phase
• Various assets in different phases: operation, construction, development, business.
• Various SPVs and stakeholders
• Moving local tax environment.
• Several processes still to be implemented.

Activities

General

• Maintain vigilant respect of local laws and regulations
• Work in accordance with COMPANY's rules, procedures & policies

Budget / Cost control / Long term plan

• Monitor cost streams and compare them to the budget.
• Budget and Long-Term Plan (LTP)
• Head office monthly reporting and closure forecasts
• Cash flow management.
• Approval of payments / invoicing.
• Prepare financial reports, Annual Financial Statements, etc.
• Liaison with operational teams (HSSE, Project Execution, Development & Asset Management, Business development, etc.)

Accounting

• Bookkeeping and Administration
• Compliance with contractual, legal, and Company accounting norms and procedures
• Suppliers and vendor account management.
• Establish and maintain accounting procedures
• Ensure quarterly head office reporting (CAP) (if relevant)
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting software.

Tax

• Tax general matters (advises, audits) in respective jurisdictions
• Prepare CIT, VAT, WHT reports
• Ensure TERSA is compliant with fiscal laws and timely completion of relevant tax returns
• Liaison with SARS
• Maintain relationship with third party service providers (TMSA) on tax filings

Treasury

• Maintain Treasury functions including relation with local banks and Company Treasury
• Report on external debt to Treasury
• Maintain guarantees register to report to Treasury

Audit and Advisory

• Coordinates Company and external financial audits
• Represent Company with external auditors and advisors
• Manage the service level agreements with legal and professional engagement and other Company affiliates (TMSA, TEEPSA...)
• Contract management (financial contracts)

HR Administration (for TERSA)

• Monthly payroll for internal staff
• HR Administration and filings
• Expat Vehicle lease agreements
• Assist with the administration of site-based staff lease agreements

Ad Hoc

• Any other duties as may be delegated
• TERSA secretarial filings including annual returns - Administration
• Insurance management
• Lender reporting - ensure obligations to lenders relating to operations reporting and any other requirements are compiled with.
• Ensure compliance with finance documents (facilities agreement, etc.).
• Liaison with NERSA, ESKOM, Lenders, Municipalities, IPP Office, Off-taker/Buyer and other project stakeholders.
• Liaison with CIPC, COIDA, B-BBEE stakeholders.
• Ensure company adopts & implements board of director's company strategy and decisions made at board meetings.
• Ensure proper governance.
• Corporate administrative services.
• Financial Control (revenue control, etc.).
• support the social investment program including meeting each assets Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations.
• Manage Green Rights/Carbon Credits.
• Insurance management.
• Equity/debt financing management

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme (REIPPPP) Project Bidding, Award to Financial Close, Construction and Operations.
• Chartered accountant (CA) (or similar qualification) with minimum 6 years post qualification experience.
• Microsoft Business Central (MBC) experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes that might have a financial impact on the Asset Owner.
• Detail oriented, with an ability to establish and follow processes.
• Able to work under pressure and with sharp deadlines.
• Management, communication and business skills.
