Junior Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
Got a couple of years of CAD under your belt and ready to work on gear that actually gets built, shipped and put to work on real mine sites across Africa?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established heavy engineering company in Centurion, and they need a Junior Draughtsman to join a busy design team.

There's travel on the cards too, both locally and elsewhere on the continent, so if you like variety over routine, this one's worth a look.

POSITION INFO:
What you'll be doing:

Building detailed designs in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, supporting the sales team with 3D concept layouts, checking manufacturing and general arrangement drawings for accuracy, putting together parts manuals, and working closely with other departments to get projects over the line.


What you'll need:

• Around 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
• Solid working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD, AutoCAD (Navisworks/Advanced Steel/Revit) and DraftSight,
• A good handle on drawing standards and file management.
• A National Draughting Certificate
• Extra SolidWorks training
• If you've got a mechanical or structural engineering background, exposure to welding methods, or time spent in a fabrication shop, even better.
• A valid driver's license
• A clean criminal record,
• Fit to pass a mine medical (including tox / illegal substance screening), since site visits are part of the role.
