Business Management Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Managing Director in a commercial, analytical and problem-solving capacity across the business.
• Develop a broad understanding of the companys products, customers, suppliers, processes and commercial drivers.
• Work with the team to understand how the different areas of the organisation operate and interact.
• Analyse organisational, administrative and operational processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Review and implement process improvements in conjunction with the Managing Director and relevant team members.
• Make practical changes to processes and systems where required to improve efficiency, coordination and the flow of information and ensure these are understood by the team.
• Provide the Managing Director and relevant employees with information and analysis to support effective decision-making.
• Assist with improving administrative systems, record-keeping, document control and the tracking of responsibilities, deadlines and outstanding matters.
• Work with the Operations Manager and technical team to understand production progress, priorities, constraints and potential delays.
• Review inventory processes and work with the relevant employees to improve stock visibility, availability and control.
• Co-ordinate customer communication, provide progress information and help manage expectations relating to delivery and service requirements.
• Analyse product, project and operational costs and provide information to improve costing, quotations, margins and commercial decisions.
• Coordinate information between the company and its outsourced marketing and finance providers.
• Work with suppliers and service providers to coordinate quotations, purchasing, delivery and service requirements.
• Assist with international orders, exports, freight arrangements and supporting documentation.
• Prepare professional correspondence, reports and other business communication on behalf of the Managing Director when required.

Education and Experience

• A relevant degree in commerce, engineering or supply chain may be considered.
• Substantial experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
• Broad exposure to how a business operates, including production, raw materials, inventory, costs, customers, suppliers and financial information.
• Experience analysing and improving administrative, commercial or operational processes.
• Experience in mechatronics, engineering, industrial automation, machinery or capital-equipment manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Exposure to inventory management, production coordination, supply chain, costing and customer service.
• Sufficient financial understanding to analyse costs, margins and business information
• Exposure to import and export procedures, international customers or cross-border logistics would be beneficial.
• Previous management or supervisory experience.
