Senior Facilities Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Facilities Engineer to join their established team in Bloemfontein . This critical role involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of onshore production facilities for the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all facility operations, including processing plants, pipelines, and storage systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, excellent project management skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. This position offers the chance to work on key infrastructure projects in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, modification, and upgrade of oil and gas processing facilities.
• Ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Manage maintenance programs, including preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Provide technical support for facility troubleshooting and operational problem-solving.
• Coordinate with project teams for the successful execution of capital projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for facility upgrades and new developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in oil and gas facilities engineering .
• Strong knowledge of process design, P&IDs, HAZOP studies, and safety systems.
• Experience with project management, procurement, and construction oversight.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and standards.
