Long-Distance Courier Driver

About the Role

Our client seeks a professional and experienced Long-Distance Courier Driver to manage shipments across various provinces, operating out of Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for ensuring that valuable goods reach their destinations safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with extended periods of driving, possess excellent navigation skills, and maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance. You will be a key representative of the company on the road, contributing to its reputation for reliability and efficiency in nationwide logistics and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles for long-distance deliveries and pickups across South Africa.
• Ensure the safe loading, securing, and unloading of all cargo.
• Plan and optimize routes to meet delivery deadlines efficiently.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery confirmations, and expense reports.
• Adhere strictly to all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a valid PrDP.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in long-distance commercial driving.
• Excellent knowledge of South African road networks.
• A clean driving record and a commitment to safe driving practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on the road.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing conditions.
