Job Purpose

• Applications are invited to fill the position of Lecturer in Art Education and the Methodology of Art Education in theIntermediate Phase and Foundation Phase Departments
• Candidates with specific skills in the teaching of Art Education and the Methodology of Art Education are required atthe Wellington Campus

Please note that the position is based at the Wellington Campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A relevant Master’s degree to Art Education
• A relevant teaching qualification (preferably at primary school level)
• Art or an equivalent subject as a major subject at the undergraduate level
• Two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience at school level
• Fluency in Afrikaans and English

RECOMMMENDATIONS:

• Exposure to academic teaching methodology at tertiary level
• Evidence of competence in research and supervision
