External Sales Representative â Solar Industry

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a driven and results-oriented External Sales Representative to join their growing solar energy team in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing customer relationships and generating sales opportunities across the Centurion, Pretoria and surrounding Gauteng markets.

POSITION INFO:
Description:

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the Centurion, Pretoria and surrounding Gauteng territory.
• Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing customers.
• Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, networking, site visits and business development activities.
• Understand customers’ energy requirements and recommend suitable solar solutions.
• Present solar PV systems, inverters, batteries and related products and services.
• Prepare, present and follow up on quotations and proposals.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for repeat and additional sales.
• Conduct regular customer and site visits.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Previous external, field or business-to-business sales experience.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned Gauteng territory.
• Good computer literacy, including CRM systems, Microsoft Office and email.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to new business development.

Experience selling any of the following would be advantageous:

• Solar PV systems.
• Inverters and battery storage solutions.
• Backup power systems.
• Electrical products or equipment.
• Renewable energy solutions.
• Construction, building or engineering products.
