About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and creative Events Coordinator specializing in sports and leisure events to join their team in Polokwane . This role involves planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of events, from local sports tournaments to community leisure activities and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event management, a knack for logistics, and excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and participants. You will be instrumental in creating engaging and successful events that promote community involvement and enhance the sporting and leisure profile of the region, ensuring seamless execution from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of sports and leisure events, managing all logistical aspects.
• Liaise with clients, sponsors, vendors, and internal teams to define event objectives and requirements.
• Develop event budgets and manage expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring a smooth and professional operation.
• Manage event staffing, volunteer coordination, and participant registration.
• Develop promotional materials and marketing plans to maximize event attendance and engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and coordination, with a focus on sports or leisure.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
