Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Construction

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures, in Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for ensuring projects remain financially viable and within budget. You will be responsible for preparing tender documents, contracts, budgets, and cost analyses, as well as managing payments and variations. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial success of our projects and contribute to strategic cost management within the construction sector in the Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit detailed tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Undertake cost analysis for renovation and repair projects, accurately estimating costs.
• Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors, ensuring fair pricing and quality.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance, including budget vs. actual costs.
• Manage variations, claims, and payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract arrangements to minimize costs.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and liaise with clients on financial matters.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in commercial construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in cost management software and standard contract forms.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
