About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Sports Scientist to join their performance center in Randburg . You will work closely with athletes and coaching staff to optimize performance through scientific principles and data analysis. This role involves conducting physiological assessments, designing training and recovery programs, and providing expert advice on nutrition and injury prevention. The ideal candidate is passionate about sports science and dedicated to helping athletes achieve peak performance within the competitive landscape of Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physiological and biomechanical assessments of athletes.
• Develop and implement individualized training programs based on scientific data and performance goals.
• Monitor athlete workload, fatigue levels, and recovery strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on nutrition, hydration, and supplement strategies.
• Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and inform training decisions.
• Collaborate with coaches and medical staff to ensure integrated athlete care and development.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Sports Scientist with elite athletes or teams.
• Proficiency in performance monitoring tools, data analysis software, and relevant assessment technologies.
• Strong understanding of exercise physiology, training principles, and recovery protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASCA, BASES) are highly desirable.
