Senior Analytical Chemist - Pharmaceutical QA/QC

About the Role

Our client, a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer in Nelspruit , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join their Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) department. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products through rigorous testing and analysis. You will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, operating sophisticated instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards. This is a prime opportunity for an experienced analytical chemist to contribute to the pharmaceutical industry's high standards in a key Mpumalanga location.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products.
• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and dissolution testing.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments, ensuring calibration and proper functioning.
• Review and approve analytical data, test results, and batch release documentation.
• Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in QA/QC.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, and other relevant pharmaceutical analytical techniques.
• Thorough understanding of GMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical testing.
• Strong knowledge of method validation principles and execution.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
