About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Security Administrator to join their team in Randburg. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring the organization's security infrastructure to protect against cyber threats. This role involves a blend of hands-on technical work and strategic planning to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's information assets. You will work closely with the IT department to maintain a secure computing environment, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Monitor network and system logs for security breaches and suspicious activities.
- Implement security patches and updates to operating systems and applications.
- Conduct regular security awareness training for employees.
- Assist in developing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures.
- Respond to security incidents and support recovery efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in IT security administration or a similar role.
- Proficiency in managing security hardware and software solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security best practices.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and assessment tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
