Compliance Clerk

Job Duties/Tasks

1. Regulatory & Policy Compliance

· Monitor discounting transactions to ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, and contractual agreements.

· Assist in the implementation of compliance frameworks, controls, and procedures specific to discounting operations.

· Perform signatory checks on Agreements to ensure they are compliant

2. Transaction Monitoring & Verification

· Verify supporting documents for discounting transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Escalate discrepancies, irregularities, or potential breaches to the Compliance Manager.

3. Record Keeping & Reporting

· Maintain up-to-date compliance registers, documentation, and discounting records.

· Prepare compliance and exception reports for management review within agreed timelines.

4. Risk Management & Audit Support

· Identify potential risks within discounting processes and recommend corrective measures.

· Provide support during internal and external audits by collating and submitting required documentation.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

· Liaise with internal teams (Finance, Credit, Risk) and external stakeholders to resolve compliance queries.

Support awareness initiatives and communicate compliance requirements to staff within the department.

Qualifications and Experience

· Matric / Grade 12

· Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a compliance, finance, or auditing environment (preferably in discounting, financial services, or lending).

· Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to discounting and financial transactions.

Computer skills compulsory (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
