Introduction

Responsible and accountable to the Watch Manager: ATSO for the provision of Air Traffic Services Assistance and support, in accordance with all statutory requirements, ATNS policies, Directives and Procedures for ATSO’s in the daily operational service delivery. Establish and maintain standards and training by conducting performance assessments and standard checks. Supervise the daily operational duties, service delivery and provision of suitably qualified manpower. Provide monthly reports and statistical returns.

Major Activities

• Complying with the QMS (ISO)
• Plan and monitor adherence to the standards maintenance program
• Maintain standard checks and performance monitoring, recording and reporting all exceptions to ensure that all ATSOs meet the requirements as stipulated in the regulations
• Monitor and ensure all medicals and proficiency assessments are current and in line with CAA regulations.
• Conduct reviews and incident investigations as required
• Manage discipline in the work place.
• Implement operational procedures.
• Manage inter-unit relationships thus ensuring effective teamwork
• Manage adherence to published procedures.
• Conducting audits (QMS & SA)
• Coach peers and subordinates
• Assist with SAR requirements
• Optimise the workplace environment
• Plan, publish and monitor compliance of the shift schedules
• Train and provide OJTIs
• Ensure correct training methodology is used
• Compile and maintain training documentation
• Conduct bi-annual assessments
• Correct and counsel ATSOs who fail to meet standards
• Check and ensure integrity of landing logs
• Check and ensure accurate capturing of hour counts

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric
• A valid ATSO license with FIS
• FIS validation
• OJTI Qualification
• ATSO with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
