Network Infrastructure Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Network Infrastructure Technician to manage and maintain their communication networks from their operational hub supporting the Polokwane region. This role involves the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of network hardware and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. You will be instrumental in supporting various network technologies and resolving complex technical issues. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using diagnostic tools.
• Perform regular network maintenance, including software updates and security patching.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps accurately.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, providing timely resolution to minimize service disruption.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Technician or Network Administrator.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and network topologies.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
