About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and responsible Aftercare Facilitator to manage their after-school program in Vereeniging. This role involves supervising children aged between 6 and 13 years, providing a safe and engaging environment as they transition from school. You will be responsible for facilitating homework completion, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring the general well-being of the children until collected by parents. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with school-aged children and supporting their development outside of traditional school hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children participating in the aftercare program.
• Assist children with homework and provide academic support as needed.
• Organize and lead age-appropriate recreational, artistic, and physical activities.
• Manage group dynamics and foster a positive and inclusive environment.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding their child's participation and progress.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and program guidelines.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an aftercare or similar setting.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards children.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and manage group activities effectively.
• Knowledge of child safety and supervision best practices.
• First Aid certification is an advantage.
