JOB DESCRIPTION
The Burner’s primary purpose is to provide support within the Production division as dictated by
operational requirements in the form of cutting a variety of steel product using a cutting torch. The
following tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Cut variety of steel for re-melting purposes
Maintenance and checking of cutting tools
Ensuring that equipment is in good, safe and working order
Follow correct procedure before cutting hazardous material identified
Maintain safe working procedures at all times.
Abide by the regulations as set out in the O.H.S.A. and company policies.

Must be willing and eager to learn
Ability to work in a team and independently
Must be honest & reliable
Hard-working and self–motivated individual
Ability to function efficiently in pressurized work situations
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Relevant experience as a burner is advantageous
Excellent knowledge of Ferrous and non-ferrous metals
Good knowledge of applicable cutty safety procedure and safety equipment to be used.
Willingness to work shifts and overtime
Basic knowledge of Health and Safety rules
