About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Engineer specializing in Live Production to join their operations team in Bloemfontein . This crucial role involves managing and operating sophisticated broadcast equipment to ensure seamless live television and radio broadcasts. You will be responsible for the technical setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audio, video, and transmission systems during live events and daily programming. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses a strong technical aptitude, and thrives in the fast-paced environment of live broadcasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a wide range of broadcast equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, and transmission systems.
- Set up and configure broadcast studios and remote production facilities for live events.
- Monitor broadcast quality and technical performance, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal signal integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during live broadcasts.
- Collaborate with production teams, including directors, producers, and talent, to meet technical requirements.
- Stay current with evolving broadcast technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Broadcast Engineer , with a strong emphasis on live television or radio production.
- In-depth knowledge of video and audio signal flow, broadcast standards, and transmission technologies.
- Hands-on experience with video switchers (e.g., Ross, Blackmagic), audio consoles, and RF systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex broadcast systems under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment in Bloemfontein .
